Use Thealoz Duo drops in the daytime and Thealoz Duo Gel when dryness is severe or at night. The gel is thicker, stays on the eye longer and can blur vision for a short time, which is why many people use it before bed.
What is in Thealoz Duo?
Both contain trehalose and sodium hyaluronate. Hyaluronate holds moisture on the eye surface, and trehalose helps protect the surface cells from drying. The gel also contains carbomer, which thickens it. Both are preservative free.
Drops or gel?
- Thealoz Duo drops: thin, clear, comfortable through the day, suitable with contact lenses.
- Thealoz Duo Gel: longer lasting, for severe dryness, waking with dry eyes, or night-time use.
Many people use both: drops by day and gel at night.
How often can I use them?
Typically one drop in each eye four to six times a day, or as your optician advises.
How do they compare with Hycosan?
Both ranges are preservative free and based on hyaluronate. Thealoz Duo adds trehalose. If one has not suited you, the other is worth trying. See which Hycosan to choose.
When should I see someone?
See an optician or GP if you have eye pain, marked redness, discharge or a change in vision.
Both are available with tracked UK delivery, free over £25.
