Frequently asked questions

What does nominating a pharmacy mean?

Nominating means telling the NHS which pharmacy should receive your electronic prescriptions. Once you nominate Anfield Pharmacy, your GP sends your prescriptions straight to us, so you do not need to collect a paper copy.

Is prescription delivery free?

Yes. We deliver NHS prescriptions free of charge to homes in our local area. You can also collect from 140 Oakfield Road, Liverpool L4 0UQ.

Do I still pay prescription charges?

Standard NHS prescription charges apply in England unless you are exempt, for example if you are aged 60 or over, under 16, or hold a valid exemption certificate. Nominating us does not change what you pay.

Can I change my nominated pharmacy later?

Yes. You can change your nomination at any time by asking another pharmacy, your GP surgery or through the NHS App.

How long does a repeat prescription take?

Allow a few working days for your GP to approve a repeat request. We will let you know if there is a delay or an item is out of stock.

Never run out of your medicines again

It takes two minutes to nominate us. Your GP, your medicines and your NHS charges stay exactly the same.
