What is NHS Pharmacy First?
Pharmacy First is an NHS service that lets pharmacists assess and, where appropriate, treat seven common conditions without a GP appointment: sinusitis, sore throat, earache, infected insect bites, impetigo, shingles and uncomplicated urinary tract infections in women.
Is Pharmacy First free?
Yes. The consultation is free on the NHS. If you are prescribed a medicine, standard NHS prescription charges apply unless you are exempt.
Do I need an appointment?
Booking online gets you a set time with our pharmacist, but you can also call us on 0151 263 3631 or pop in to 140 Oakfield Road during opening hours.
What if the pharmacist cannot treat me?
Eligibility is set by the NHS. If Pharmacy First is not right for you, our pharmacist will give advice and refer you to your GP or another service.
Not sure which service you need?
Call us and a member of the pharmacy team will point you in the right direction.
