They do different jobs, and you can use both. Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% is aimed at oily, blemish-prone skin and the look of pores. Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 is a hydrating serum for skin that feels dry or tight.
What does each one do?
- The Ordinary Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%: a water-based serum with a high level of niacinamide (vitamin B3) and zinc. Popular for shine, congestion and uneven-looking skin.
- The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5: hyaluronic acid holds water in the skin, and vitamin B5 supports hydration. Suits every skin type.
Can I use them together?
Yes. Both are water-based, so the order is flexible. A common routine is cleanser, hyaluronic acid on slightly damp skin, niacinamide, then moisturiser.
Morning or night?
Either, or both. In the morning, finish with sunscreen.
How much do I use?
A few drops for the whole face. More does not work better and can leave a film that pills under make-up.
Can they irritate skin?
Hyaluronic acid rarely does. A 10% niacinamide can cause redness or tingling in some people, especially on sensitive skin. Patch test first, start on alternate days, and stop if irritation continues.
What goes with them?
A gentle cleanser and a plain moisturiser. See which CeraVe cleanser to choose.
Both serums are UK stock, with tracked delivery and free delivery over £25.
