Choose by skin type. Hydrating Cleanser is for normal to dry skin, Foaming Cleanser is for normal to oily skin, and SA Smoothing Cleanser is for rough, bumpy or blemish-prone skin. All three contain ceramides and are fragrance free.
Which CeraVe cleanser suits my skin?
- CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser: a non-foaming lotion with hyaluronic acid. Cleans without leaving skin tight. Best for normal to dry and sensitive skin.
- CeraVe Foaming Cleanser: a gel that foams and removes excess oil, with niacinamide. Best for normal to oily skin.
- CeraVe SA Smoothing Cleanser: contains salicylic acid, which gently exfoliates. Best for rough, bumpy skin, including on the arms and body.
Can I use the SA cleanser every day?
Many people can, but start with a few times a week and build up. Salicylic acid can dry or irritate some skin. Use sunscreen in the daytime, since exfoliating products can make skin more sensitive to the sun.
What should I use after cleansing?
A moisturiser while skin is still slightly damp. CeraVe Moisturising Cream suits dry skin on the face and body, and CeraVe AM Facial Moisturising Lotion SPF50 covers moisturiser and sun protection in one morning step.
Is CeraVe suitable for sensitive or eczema-prone skin?
The Hydrating Cleanser and Moisturising Cream are the gentlest of the range. If you have eczema, see our guide to the best emollients for eczema.
